while trans.log is not updating when i run R3trans -x.

I can't seem to find any information on the installation of SAP JVM in a SAP environment. Now I don't need to be told how to install it in Linux, that I already know.

Is there a preferred way or documentation/note that I'm not aware of on how to install it for SAP ? If there isn't there should be, otherwise there is no standard for support purposes or does SAP not really care where you install it as long as your environment is setup correctly ? ...in which case I would install it like any Sun JDK.

Dear experts,

We are trying to upgrade SAP ERP 6.0 Ehp 5 using Software Update Manager tool 1.0 remotely from my desktop. OS version: Linux RHEL 6.5. DB version: Oracle 11.2.

While executing the command ./STARTUP from SUM folder, GUI is opening from browser but can not connect to guiport 4241. The error shows,

Error while connecting to communication partner.

Could not connect to host <hostname> on port 4241.

java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect

java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect    

Taking reference from other blogs, we have tried using other ports (guiport 4242,4243), but no luck.

Took reference from Note. 1238121 - SAP JVM for Software Logistics Tools, set the environment variants JCE_POLICY_ZIP, still it didn't work.

Stopped the default router of OS using iptables, didn't work.

I am attaching the DETECT.TRC log from ..//SUM/sdt/trc folder.

i´ve a question.

I´m trying to install a new SAP NW 2004s on Linux through a System Copy.

I log on the server with VNCServer and then login in System through KDE GUI with User root .

Then i start from shell the ./sapinst in a usr/sap/sapinstallation directory, the system hangs with the message:

When I  check t code st06 , I get message saying "SAPOSCOL not running ? (shared memory not available )" , I'm on ECC 5.0 and having kernel release 640 Linux GNU SLES-7 i686 A with patch level 247. Also the SAPOSCOL Collector Version:  COLL 20.88 640 - V1.12 for Linux. The same version is running on my Development server, whereas I'm getting  this msg in prd. Can anybody suggest ??

I have prepared SAP on Linux RHEL 6 and its installed fine.

SICK test is done and able to login with logon pad.

However, I am not able to edit profiles with RZ10. Following error is shown performing Utilities -> Import Profiles -> Active Server :

As a result I am unable to perform stopsap and startsap. Please note that I am able to login into the SAP through logon pad.

hi ia m getting this error during the upgrade .i did checked in sm12 for any failed updates but there arent any .so i think there should be a table that i need to alter.should this be done in se16 ? and i think the table name is TRAN.LBWG any ideas.

I am installing Distributed SAP Netweaver 7.3 on Opensuse 12.3.

I am stuck during the installation of Primary Application Server at " Start Instance "  phase.

I see in the Dev_Dispatcher that the uuidd deamon is not running but, I see that the uuidd has been installed and able to get the id also.

My question is it Mandatory to have uuidd for SAP installation ?

I´m doing the installation of a SAP system in a Suse linux (SLES 11) with Oracle 11.2.0.3. I´m in the phase "Install database server software" at SWPM tool. For the database installation, I need to log in with ora<sid> user and run the ./RUNINSTALLER.

But for this I need the xclock. For this I need to set the DISPLAY variable, I did that to localhost:0.0, I try other values like <IP address>:0.0 ; <hostname>:0.0 and so on... but everytime I try to run the xclock command it show me an error:

sapsleora:oras1o 25> xclock
No protocol specified
Error: Can't open display: :0.0

For this reason I can´t start the oracle database installation with the ora<sid> user (./RUNINSTALLER)!

Can you help me please, can you tell me how to put the xclock / xyes working?
